Within the context of digitalisation and educationally related developments, the public sector (PS) must present itself as an attractive employer on the labour market. In addition to contemporary initial education and training, this includes interesting promotion opportunities as well as horizontal and vertical permeability of the accessible educational courses. The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training's project "Vocational Education and Training in the PS" examined and evaluated the consequences of these changes in order to readjust the prevailing framework conditions. To this end, a project committee provided future-oriented recommendations. The publication documents the contributions for the professional public for further discussion. This should motivate those responsible to place more focus on the future structure of vocational education and training in the PS.
